Hugging Face, an artificial intelligence development platform, has acquired Pollen Robotics to enter the humanoid robot market.
The AI development platform Hugging Face has acquired Pollen Robotics, a French humanoid robot startup. This acquisition marks Hugging Face’s expansion into the robotics field. The two parties had previously collaborated to build the open-source household robot “Le Robot.” Hugging Face has established a robotics team led by Rémi Cadène, who previously worked on Tesla’s Optimus project, and plans to sell Pollen’s humanoid robot Reachy 2 while opening up its code for developers to improve.
