Google Releases AlphaEvolve: Capable of Inventing New Algorithms, Improving Chip Design, and Solving Challenging Math Problems

DeepMind has announced the launch of AlphaEvolve, an evolution-based coding agent powered by Gemini, designed to discover and optimize general-purpose algorithms. AlphaEvolve combines the creativity of large language models with the verification capabilities of automated evaluators, refining the most promising ideas through an evolutionary framework. It has already been used to optimize Google’s data centers, chip design, and AI training processes—including the training of its own underlying large language models.
