The AI model Centaur accurately predicts human behavior.

The Helmholtz AI research program in Germany, Google DeepMind, and Princeton University have jointly launched a new AI model called Centaur. This model can accurately predict human behavior in large-scale cognitive tasks, marking an important breakthrough in AI’s ability to understand and anticipate human actions. Centaur is based on the 70-billion-parameter Llama 3.1 language model and was trained using a dataset named Psych-101, which contains over 10 million decisions from 60,000 participants across various domains including perception, memory, and logical reasoning. Currently, both the Psych-101 dataset and the Centaur model have been made publicly available, with future prospects for expansion into fields such as child psychology and psychiatry.
