OpenAI has officially released Sora 2, declaring that “video generation has entered its ChatGPT moment.” The new model can generate 16-second, 1080p video clips with synchronized audio in a single pass, delivering major improvements in physical realism and multi-shot storytelling. Alongside it, the companion iOS social app “Sora APP” has also launched, featuring AI avatars that can “guest star” in videos and community remixing functions. The app is currently available by invitation only to users in the United States and Canada, with an API and Android version to follow.
