The Wikimedia Foundation has unveiled a new AI strategy, emphasizing the use of AI to assist in encyclopedia editing work and improve the efficiency of volunteers’ time utilization, rather than replacing human editors. This strategy automates tedious tasks through AI, such as providing workflow support for moderators and patrollers, enhancing information discoverability, automatically translating and adapting content, and expanding the scale of onboarding training for new volunteers.
