Google Gemini adds video analysis feature

Google’s Gemini AI client has introduced a video upload and analysis feature, now available to users on iOS and Android platforms after updating to the latest version of the app. This feature enables users to upload videos and have Gemini analyze the content frame by frame based on provided prompts to answer related questions. For example, users can upload surveillance camera footage and ask about the recording time—Gemini will then cross-reference the video’s timestamp and environmental information to provide an answer. It’s worth noting that this feature is being rolled out gradually, with availability varying by device and account. Currently, it supports the Gemini 2.5 Flash and 2.5 Pro models.
