Anthropic Tightens Service Restrictions: Prohibits Entities Controlled by China and Other Regions from Using Its Technology

Anthropic has updated its Terms of Service, strengthening sales restrictions on unsupported regions. Previously, although the terms prohibited certain regions (such as China) from using its services, some companies were still able to access Anthropic’s offerings by setting up subsidiaries in other countries. Anthropic noted that such companies may be subject to legal requirements compelling them to share data or cooperate with intelligence agencies, thereby posing national security risks.
