Following OpenAI, Google’s Gemini model will support Anthropic’s MCP protocol.

Google DeepMind has announced support for Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) for the Gemini model and SDK. Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, stated that MCP is rapidly becoming the open standard for the AI agent era, and Google looks forward to jointly developing this protocol with other industry partners.
