Anthropic has launched the Claude Web Search API, enabling the Claude AI model to conduct real-time, full – web searches. This new feature allows developers to build applications based on Claude that can provide the latest information without having to manage search infrastructure.

The API can determine when a web search is necessary, automatically generate search queries, retrieve results, analyze content, and ultimately provide answers with citations. In addition, developers can customize Claude’s search behavior and limit the domain scope of the search.

In terms of pricing, the starting price for the search function is $10 per 1,000 searches. It supports multiple Claude models, including Claude 3.7 Sonnet and Claude 3.5 Haiku.
