Mistral Releases an Open-Source AI Model, Devstral, Specifically Designed for Programming

Mistral AI has collaborated with All Hands AI to launch Devstral, an open-source AI model with 24 billion parameters. It is specifically designed for advanced software engineering tasks and is currently in the “research preview” stage. The model is released under the Apache 2.0 license, allowing for commercial use.

Devstral achieved a score of 46.8% on the SWE-Bench Verified benchmark test, surpassing some closed-source models. It can run on a single RTX 4090 graphics card or a Mac with 32GB of RAM, reducing the hardware requirements.
